How to Ask ChatGPT for an Interactive Study Plan with Checkboxes
Most study plans fail because they're just text: you read them once and forget them. ChatGPT can sometimes show answers with interactive elements, such as checkboxes you can tap. So you can ask for a study plan you tick off instead of just read: checkboxes for each topic and a progress bar that fills as you go. Be aware: an interactive answer isn't guaranteed and may depend on your plan, app version and the reply itself. Ticks may also not be saved when you reopen the chat. The steps below include a backup that always gives you a checklist you can keep.
The prompt
Finals in 8 weeks, 20 hrs a week. Make an interactive weekly plan with checkboxes per topic and a progress bar.
Steps
- Open the ChatGPT app or go to chatgpt.com and sign in. ChatGPT has a free plan; interactive answers may not show up on every account.
- Start a new chat.
- Copy the prompt below and change '8 weeks' and '20 hrs' to your own exam date and weekly study time.
- Optional: add your subjects at the end, e.g. 'Subjects: Calculus, Organic Chemistry, Statistics.'
- Send the prompt and wait for the full reply.
- If you see checkboxes, tick the first topic and check that the progress bar moves.
- Test if your ticks are saved: close the app (or refresh the page), reopen the same chat and look at the checkbox. Ticks may not stay.
- If you only get plain text, tap regenerate or reply: 'Show this as an interactive checklist with a progress bar.'
- For tracking over several weeks, or if no interactive version appears, ask: 'Give me this plan as a simple checklist I can paste into my notes app.' Paste it into your notes app's checklist and tick topics there.
